Why have colon hydrotherapy?

Colonic Irrigation, also known as hydrotherapy of the colon, is the process of cleansing the colon by passing purified filtered water through it.

Colon Hydrotherapy cleanses and hydrates the entire length of your colon, removing large amounts of toxic matter that can build up over time.

You do not need to have a reason to have colonics, they will improve your well-being and digestive health even if there is no obvious problems.

They are particularly effective at relieving the symptoms of:

  • IBS/cramps/bloating

  • Constipation

  • PMS

  • Headaches

  • Skin problems

  • Depression and anxiety

  • Backache

  • Fatigue

Some of our clients like to use them to detox, feel energized and have a flatter tummy before or after a holiday for example.

Colonics can also be used regularly to support the detoxification of the liver and help you to feel cleansed and rejuvenated.

You can also combine a course of colon hydrotherapy treatments into one of my detox or IBS programmes or as part of my 12 week calmer and happier gut reset programme.

Is it hygienic?

We believe hygiene and safety are highly important and maintain a high standard at all times.

We are part of the professional association RICTAT  which has very high standards and procedures regarding these matters.

We only use disposable pipes and speculums for our treatments and advanced colon hydrotherapy equipment.

Where does the waste go and is it embarrassing?

The water along with any waste comes out through a viewing tube (you can choose to see what comes out or not) and into the waste pipe. The entire process is completely enclosed and there are no embarrassing smells or noises. Almost all of my clients tell me they find the treatment much easier, less embarrassing and more relaxing than they had imagined.

I have heard that Coffee enemas are good is this something you offer?

You can request the addition of a coffee or herbal enema as part of your treatment, please let us know at the time of booking. Most of our detox or IBS programmes include this.

What can I expect when I come for a treatment?

When you arrive at the clinic, you will be greeted by your therapist. You will have a consultation to establish particular problem areas and goals.

You will then be shown to your own personal ensuite bathroom to change.

You will lie comfortably on a couch for the duration of your treatment, the greatest care is taken to maintain the client’s dignity at all times.

Via a small plastic speculum, body temperature water will be gently introduced into the colon and the therapist will massage the abdomen to encourage the release of impacted material.

Is it painful?

The treatment is not painful, in fact many of our regular clients look forward to their treatments as a chance to relax and have some 'me' time. Sometimes you can experience a slight cramping feeling as gas and waste makes it way to the exit.

How long does it take?

The treatment will last for 45 minutes and the whole process including consultation will take around 1 - 1.5 hours.

After the treatment you can carry on your day as normal.

We recommend avoiding alcohol for 24-48 hours and staying hydrated to maximize your results.
